Market Update- The Government of the West Java Province plans to build new International Airport on 5,000 Ha of property Majalengka regency to replace Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung. Total investment will reach US$ 2.54 billion. Other than that, Aerocity Industrial Estate will be developed nearby Husein Sastranegara Airport and it will cost alone US$ 1.55 billion.
- The Polonia International Airport in North Sumatera will be replaced with a new International airport, Kuala Namu-Deli Serdang. The total capital expenditure is projected to reach at US$ 450 million for Public Sector and Private Sector
- Government plans to build the New Lombok International Airport in two phases of development. Capital expenditure will reach US$ 138 million for the first phase (excluding contigencies and consulting services cost). Project scope will cover construction of new airport, access road, water supply system, electric network, telecommunication network, and fuel system.
- Indonesian needed 254 unit commercial planes to fulfil the demands of airlines service in three years (2006 - 2009).
- In response to increasing demand, Indonesian private commercial airline companies are planning to modernize and purchase more planes for the next three years.
- Garuda Indonesia, the national airline company, announced the purchase of 10 Boeing 787 Series 8 Dreamliner and 18 units of Boeing 737 New Generation series in a deal worth US$ 2 billion. The Boeing 787 Series 8 Dreamliner will be delivered to Garuda Indonesia in 2011 - 2013 and the Boeing 737-800 first delivery will be in 2006.
