PT. Dirgantara Indonesia Receives Order for 10 Helicopters

Jakarta – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) had received order to assemble 10 Bell-412 EP Helicopters worth US$ 115 millions.  First unit delivery was scheduled by latest 18 months after purchase signing under 4 – 6 units of production capacity each year.

MOU for helicopter assembling was signed yesterday in Jakarta by DI’s CEO Budi Santosa and Bell Helicopter Textron Inc.’s President Director Richard J. Millman, witnessed by Deputy Minister State Enterprises Sahala Lumban Gaol and the US Ambassador Cameron Hume.


Out of 10 helicopters ordered, Indonesian Army procured 6 units and the remaining units were purchased by Indonesian SAR Corpse.

“We are optimistic to have 22 helicopters more order by 2014,” said DI’s VP Marketing and Sales Arie Wibowo.  Whilst, Budi Santosa explained that the Helicopters being produced would carry 20% local content – And according to Richard J. Millman, DI had credibility to penetrate helicopters’ market in South East Asia.
