THE 2ND INDONESIA’S OFFICIAL AVIATION, AIRCRAFT & AIRPORT TECHNOLOGY SHOW

Jakarta will be once again the host venue of The 2nd Indonesia’s Official Aviation, Aircraft & Airport Technology Show – INDO AEROSPACE 2010 Expo & Forum from 10 - 13 November 2010 at JIExpo Kemayoran Jakarta, Indonesia.  The event is co-hosted by Ministry of Transportation and supported by Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry, Indonesian National Air Carriers Association, Indonesian Aircraft Maintenance Shop Association (IAMSA), Indonesian Aero Sport Federation and Indonesian Exhibition Companies Association.

Airlines serving regular flights in the country include domestic, pioneer and foreign airlines. Those serving domestic flights dominate the industry. The past seven years saw a fast growth of aviation industry in the country - from only 10 airlines toward the end of 1990 to nearly 30 in 2005. However, in 2008, the number declined sharply after the government revoked the license of some of the airlines for a number of reasons mostly as they were not ready with aircraft and skilled personnel and other facilities. Based on data at the transport ministry, the number of airlines serving scheduled flights totaled only 16 in April 2008. They include Garuda Indonesia, Merpati Nusantara Airlines, Indonesia Air Asia, Lion Air, Mandala Air, Wings Air, Batavia Air, etc. In addition, the demand for military and surveillance aircraft and technology is set to increase as part of the Government’s upgrading programme.

Held concurrently with the Expo will be the Indonesian Aerospace Industry Conference which is expected to attract over 300 top decision makers from both Government and commercial sectors. This conference is the most important platform for the aerospace industry to share experiences, network and build strategic partnerships.
